Share of widow or widower in personal estate. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as follows: Section 1. That section 2937 of chapter 21 of the Revised Statutes of Missouri, 1899, be amended by inserting between the words "husband" and "shall," in the second line of said section, the words "or wife," and by inserting between the words "widow" and "shall" in the third line of said section the words "or widower," and between words "husband" and "at," in the fourth line of said section, the words "or wife," and between the words "his" and "death" in the fourth line of said section, the words "or her," and by adding to said section the words "or wife;" so that said section, when so amended, shall read as follows: Section 1937. When the husband or wife shall die, leaving a child or children or other descendants, the widow or widower shall be entitled absolutely to a share in the personal estate belonging to the husband or wife at the time of his or her death equal to the share of a child of such deceased husband or wife.
