Wright, formerly of Atchison, died at her home in Independence, MO, yesterday morning of pheumonia and heart failure. She was past ninety years old, and was the mother of Samuel Wright of 713 X Street, Atchison. The deceased was born in Boonville, MO, March 18, 1822. At the age of 22 she was married to Samuel C. Wright. Nine children were born to them: Samuel Wright is the only one of the children now living. Besides her son she is survived by four grandchildren. August E. Corry, Harry Sprague, Mrs. R. E. Elliott and Inez Wright; also one great great grandchild. Mrs. Wright retained all her faculties and attended to her household duties until the beginning of her last illness ten days ago. Obituary Posted by Donald Palmer on Tue, 02 Feb 1999 Surnames: Palmer, Boles, Spence, Wills, McFarland, Hunt, Helderman, Jones Fulton Weekly Gazette 10 Sep 1909 William Y. Palmer, aged 78 years, a well-known citizen of Callaway County, died at his home in North Nichols street, this city, early Thursday morning after a short illnes of flux. Burial will be this morning at 10:00 o'clock, at the new cemetery. A short service will be conducted at the grave by Rev. J. B. Jones. Mr. Palmer was born in Callaway county, October 31, 1831, and was one of the county's old citizens. When a young man he worked as a carpenter, but after his mariage in 1854 to Miss Mary Boles, daughter of Elijah Boles, a pioneer citizen, he settled on a farm northwest of Calwood and remained there until last fall, when he sold out and moved to Fulton. Three children were born of his union with Miss Boles, William and Elijah Palmer, both of Calwood, and Mrs. Sallie Spence, of Hannibal. She died in 1864 and in 1868 he married Miss Lizzie Wills, of this county, who survives him, as does their one son, C. M. Palmer, of this city. Jerry P. Palmer, living on Richland, northeast of Fulton, is a brother of the deceased. Mrs. Sarah McFarland and Mrs. Anna Hunt, of this county, and Mrs. Nellie Helderman, of St. Louis, are sisters. Mr. Palmer was highly esteemed as a citizen, friend and neighbor. He was always jovial and kind-hearted and counted his friends almost by the number of hsi acquaintances. He liaves a good name, which is more precious than gold, and a priceless heritage to those who survive him. Remains in state at residence until Wed. morning, Oct. 14, 1936, 10 o'clock. Funeral services at Nieburg & Vitt Funeral Home, Wed. afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment in St. Peter's Evangelical Cemetery.
