Marie was born February 5, 1916 in Stanton, Missouri to the late Robert Joseph and Edith Schmuke nee Door. She was united in marriage to the late Frank Beckmann November 29, 1935 in St. Louis, Missouri and to this union two children were born. She is survived by her son; Robert H. Beckmann and wife Anita of Beaufort, Missouri, daughter Carol Eads and husband Eddie of Union, Missouri, two brothers, Arthur Schmuke and wife Alice of Sullivan, Missouri, James Schmuke and wife Jennie of St. Louis, Missouri, four sisters; Gussie Sappington of Sullivan, Missouri, Betty Koeing of Sullivan, Missouri, Mildred Smith and husband Warren of St. Louis, Missouri, Rita Vopel of St. Charles, Missouri, three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Schmucke was born at Beaufort, Missouri on December 29, 1882, the son of the late Anton Schmucke and his wife, Anna, nee Voss and passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday June 27, 1967 at his home near Union, reaching the age of 84 years, 5 months and 28 days. In infancy he was Baptised at St. Joseph Church at Neier. He received his schooling in the Church School and grew to young manhood in this community. On May 4, 1909 he was united in marriage to Clara Stuesse by Father George Koob. They made their home on a farm in the Beaufort community and three children were born to this marriage. He was preceded in death by his wife on January 5, 1916. He leaves to survive two daughters, Mrs. Helen Wilkens of Beaufort, Missouri, Mrs. Irene Reinecke of Union, rural route. One son Anton Schmucke of Washington, Missouri, One half sister, Marie Laycock of Granit City, Illinois, Two half brothers George Bolzenuis of Washington, Missouri and Joe Bolzenius of Oak Lawn, Illinois. Three grandchildren and one great grandchild. One daughter in law, Margaret, wife of Anton. Two son in laws, Albert Wilkens and Anton Reinecke. Sisters in law, brothers in law, neices, nephews and many other relatives and friends. Funeral Services were held on Friday, June 30, from the Oltmann Funeral Home in Union at 9:15 a.m. and Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church at Neier at 10:00 a.m. by Father Anthony Bukauskas. Schmuke was born June 16, 1920 at Neier, Missouri, the son of Phillip Schmuke and his wife, Anna Stuesse Schmuke and passed away Monday, May 20, 1996 at the age of 75 years. He received his schooling at St. Joseph's Church School and grew up in the Neier area. On December 16, 1972, he was united in Marriage to Ethel Hess at St. Joseph Church. They made their home on his family farm and did farming. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church at Neier. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Ethel Schmuke of Union, Missouri; one step son, Jim Hess of St. Louis, Missouri; neices, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Schmuke was born on February 2, 1885 at Leslie, Missouri, the daughter of the late John Stuesse and his wife, Margaret, nee Schmitt and passed away at the St. Francis Hospital in Washington, Missouri on Wednesday September 23, 1970 in her 86th year. In infancy she was Baptised in St. Joseph Church at Neier. She received her schooling in St. Joseph's Church School and grew to young womanhood in that community. On November 15, 1905 she was united in marriage to Mr. Phillip Schmuke at St. Joseph's Church. They made their home on a farm in the Neier community and four childred were born to this marriage. Mrs. Schmuke was preceeded in death by a son, John in infancy and also by her husband, Phillip Schmuke in 1955. Those who survive are one daughter, Mrs. Mary Ley of Washington, Missouri route one. Two sons, August Schmuke of Washington, Missouri and Leo Schmuke of Union, route one. One daughter in law, Mary, wife of August and one son in law, Joe Ley. Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, neices, nephews and other relatives and friends. He received his schooling in the St. Joseph Church School at Neier and grew to young manhood in the Beaufort Area. On May 17, 1958 he was united in marriage to Miss Thelma Marquart at St. Francis Borgia Church in Washington, Missouri. In 1967 they moved to Beaufort, Missouri, to make their home. Mr. Schmuke had been employed at SKF Company in Washington, Missouri for over 10 years. He was a member of the St. Joseph Church at Neier. He was preceeded in death by two sisters, Elsie Voss and Adelle Enke, and also by his father-inlaw, Everett Marquart. Mr. Schmuke was a member of the Washington American Legion Post #218. Those who survive are his wife, Thelma Schmuke of Beaufort, Missouri. He was 73 years, 10 months and 11 days old. He was raised on a farm and attended school at the St. Joseph's Church of Neier. On September 20, 1910 he was married to Frances Bolzenius at St. Joseph's Church. They lived on a farm Southeast of Beaufort for 41 years while they raised their family. Due to ill health, they moved to Union where they made their home. He is survived by his wife Mrs. Frances Schmuke; three children Mrs. Cecelia Freie, Owensville; George and Emil Schmuke, Union; one son-in law, Edwin Freie; two daughters-in-law, Adele and Irene Schmuke; nine grandchildren, Edwin, Earl and Bill Freie, who are in the Army Air Force; Betty Jane, Dorothy and Mary Lee Freie and Robert, Mary Ann and Roy Schmuke.
