He was the son of Bracket DAVISON, being among the best families that ever graced the state of Tennessee or planted the pioneer's ax in southwest Missouri. He emigrated to Dallas County in 1837 and helped to settle up and civilize the community we now enjoy. in the year 1829 he was married to Rebecca WOLLARD, daughter of Nathaniel WOLLARD, to whom was born 9 children, 6 boys and 3 girls. After Rebecca's death, he married Elizabeth EDMISSION, Mar.5, 1865, consort to John S. EDMISSION, deceased, another daughter of Nathaniel WOLLARD, to whom were born 2 children, a boy and a girl. Their children are all grown...Uncle George joined the Christian Church in 1849...He began the practice of medicine about the year 1857 and was ever faithful to the call of the sick. B. Dodson was born June 9, 1858. He passed away at 10:30 p.m., August 13, 1934, at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Fred Long. On Nov. 11, 1884, he was married to Mary Dickerman and to this union were born eight children. Surviving are Mrs. Eli Huskey, Mrs. J. J. Guley, Mrs. Fred Long, Mrs. George Perry, Mrs. W. A. Ginter, Mrs. Edwin Hopson and Clarence G. Dodson. There are eighteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren: also a sister, Mrs. Lottie Bullock, and a brother, Lewis Dodson. A daughter Nettie died when an infant. His wife passed away Nov. 9, 1927. Fourty-four years ago he professed faith in Christ and united with Vineyard Baptist Church, later transferring his membership to Oakland Baptist Church, where he has remained through the years a faithful member. Funeral services were conducted at Oakland Church Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. by the Rev. T. R. Randall. Interment was in Oakland Cemetery. BLACKWELL William Blackwell, who made his home on Bonne Terre Route One with hsi son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James Sylvester Blackwell, died there Saturday. William Wesley Blackwell, son of the late James Sylvester and Elizabeth Roberts Blackwell, was born in Jefferson County on June 27, 1871 and died at noon Saturday, Oct. 22, 1949. He reached the age of 78 years, 5 months and 25 days. On Oct. 31, 1893, he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Dodson. They became parents of three sons, one, Thomas W. Blackwell preceded him in death on March 24, 1944. He later married Mrs. Adelia Boyd, who preceded him in death as did a step-daughter, Della Harverstick, who died three years ago. Left to mourn his passing are two sons, James Sylvester Blackwell Bonne Terre Route One; Lloyd A. KIRKPATRICK Luther Lawrence Kirkpatrick died Wednesday, Dec. 30 in Farmington after spending the previous five weeks at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. He was 78 years of age. In 1900, he was united in marriage to Laura Smith of Fredericktown. To this union one child was born, Mrs. Ester Beonig of Fredericktown. His wife died one year later. In 1904, he was united in marriage to Mrs. Susie Mills of Bismarck. To this union two children were born: Mrs. O.D. neely and Everette Kirkpatrick. Both children died earlier. In 1916, he was united in marriage to Bessie Dodson of DeSoto. To this union six children were born: Arthur of Mine LaMotte, Mrs. Delmar Pratt of Irondale, Mrs. Woodrow Chewning of St. Louis, Hermon (deceased), Mrs. John Pratt of Irondale and Burt Lee of Willow Springs, Ill. LOTTIE BULLOCK Mrs. Charlotte (Aunt Lottie) Bullock, a daughter of James and Mary Dodson was born December 16, 1851 in Jefferson County, Missouri. In August, 1869 she was united in marriage to Abe Pierce, and to this union was born four children, Billy, George, Joseph and Amanda. The happiness of this home was interrupted by the death of Mr. Pierce on January 5, 1878. On May 10, 1879 Aunt Lottie was married to Charles C. Bullock and to this union was born six children, of which only two survive, Marion and Mrs. Millie McDowell, of this city. At the death of her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Joseph Pierce, she took their infant son, Harry, and gave him a home right along with her own children. She was converted in her late teens and became a member of the First Baptist Church, in this city, when the family moved her 41 years ago. She attended the services regularly while she was able. During these years she has consitantly resided at 224 Jackson Street. On May 10, 1947 . . . her 67th wedding anniversary . . . she departed from this earthly pilgrimage. There are no surviving brothers or sisters, she being the third child in a family of 13 boys and two girls, was the very last to pass away. She leaves one son, Marion, one daughter, Mrs. Millie McDowell, 22 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, 11 step-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, a great number of admirers and many friends. Funeral services were conducted in the church Tuesday, May 13, at 2:30 p.m. by Rev. J.B. Ragsdale, of Cape Girardeau, assisted by Rev. E.W. Towler. Interment was in the Bonne Terre Cemetery with Benham service. BULLOCK, LEAD COMPANY EMPLOYEE FOR 25 YEARS, DIES AT 83 Mr. C.C. Bullock who has been a resident of Bonne Terre for forty-five years, passed quietly away at his home Monday evening, October 24, 1938. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the First Baptist Church by Rev. Victor Connelley, pastor of that church. Interment was made in the Bonne Terre cemetery with the Benham Undertaking Company in charge of arrangements. Charles Columbus Bullock was born in the State of Illinois on March 28, 1855. At the time of his death he was 83 years, 6 months and 26 days of age. Very early in his life he became a resident of Southeast Missouri. On May 10, 1880 he was married to Charlotte Dodson Pierce. To this union six children were born, two of whom survive. They are: Marion Bullock and Mrs. Minnie McDowell, both of Bonne Terre. Also surviving him are a brother, Louis Bullock of St. James, Mo. and a sister Mrs. Eliza Tipton of Galena, Kansas; one stepson, Joseph Pierce of Bonne Terre; six grand-children; 16 step-grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 23 step-great-grandchildren and three half brothers. Mr. Bullock had been a christian since about forty years of age and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bonne Terre. AMANDA BULLOCK KILLED IN AUTO WRECK Amanda Bullock, better known locally as Amanda Marah, a former resident of Bonne Terre, was killed in an automobile accident, which occurred near Howell, Mich., at 10:30 last Saturday evening. Harry E. Pierce, a nephew of the deceased, her son, Daniel Marah and grandson Everett Marah, were driving home from the home of her eldest son, Wm. Holdman, of Detroit, Mich., to Lansing, Mich., and when near Howell, Pierce, who was driving, tried to pass another car and finding one coming toward him from the other direction, left the road and hit a tree. The car was demolished and none of the passengers with the exeption of Mrs. Marah received any serious injuries. Mrs. Marah was removed to Howell hospital, where she died at 11:30 Sunday night. The remains were shipped to Bonne Terre and funeral services held from the Baptist Church in this city at 2 p.m., on Thursday, with Rev. J.B. Ragsdale officiating. Interment was made in the Bonne Terre Cemetery. The deceased was born in Maries County, Missouri on August 22, 1877, and was 51 years, 3 months and 17 days old at time of her death. She united with the Bonne Terre Baptist church 20 years ago and was a faithful member thereof until death. She was married to the late Daniel Marah in 1901 and to this union there were six children born, four of whom survive; Wm. J., Holdman, Daniel, Jr., Roscoe and Waldo Marah, all of Detroit. Mrs. Marah was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C.C. Bullock, of Bonne Terre, who survive her. Besides those named she leaves to mourn her loss, Thomas, Andrew and Nettie, stepchildren residing in St. Louis, Mo., two brothers, Joe Pierce and Marion Bullock of Bonne Terre, and six grandchildren. HARRISON DODSON J. Harrison Dodson died at his home in Bonne Terre on Monday, Feb. 25, after a brief illness of pneumonia, aged 35 years, five months and seven days. The deceased was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dodson. On Oct. 1_, 1916, he was united in marriage to Miss Hester Mayo. Seven children were born to this union, five of whom with their mother survive.
